Former editor of a Columbian fashion magazine, Orchid began treatment at Rhodes Island following Oripathy. She expressed her desire to become an Operator, passed the examination battery and was assigned to Reserve Op Team A6 as the squad leader. The former fashion magazine editor still has a nose for the trendy. She never bandwagons onto a fad, preferring to keep to her own vision. The way she dresses usually sets the style for the season at Rhodes Island. More importantly, she knows all the tricks to cover up all the superficial symptoms of Oripathy, keeping the Infected looking the same as they ever did, and even bringing out their individual charms--just as she did for herself. She has been a godsend to many Oripathy sufferers, especially the ladies. As such, Miss Orchid has become an icon to some of the girls on the island.

A modern city girl like Orchid would have never volunteered herself for a highly dangerous job like an that of an Operator. But treatment at Rhodes Island isn't free (though there are discounts and payment plans), and she did lose her job. Ultimately, after a battery of exams, she decided to accept the position. Of course, if she knew she was to lead the freaks on A6, she probably would have had second thoughts.

But when all is said and done, Orchid knows better than anyone that even though A6 is a freak show, they all have their hearts in the right place. her egotistical but sincere Midnight, her deadly but well-meaning Popukar, her icy but caring Spot, and... then there's Catapult... Right, let's not talk about her. In any case, Orchid treasures her squadmates.

Ever since she started to lead the Operations Reserve Team A6 on field missions, Orchid hasn't been as hesitant about working overtime than before. After all, emergency missions don't come in on a regular schedule like office paperwork. After she got woken up by late night urgent calls a couple times, she started to face all this calmly. If she could have just five more minutes before the mission, she would even have given herself a full face makeup before showing up in front of her teammates.
